Frequently asked questions

Practical answers about how our courses run. If yours is not here, ask us directly — we answer the phone.

How many people are in a class?
Publicly scheduled courses are limited to no more than 10 participants, so there is real interaction between the students and the instructor. Corporate sessions are sized to your group.
Do you deliver training remotely?
Yes. Whether in person or remote, participants are engaged in activity and discussion throughout the session. For remote training we use software that lets the instructor see all the participants' computers at once on his own large monitor, so you get the same over-the-shoulder help you would in a classroom.
What do I get after the course finishes?
You get 90 days of free access to our LMS site, which contains a series of videos reviewing the important concepts from the course, along with the exercise files used in class.
Can I retake a course if I need a refresher?
Yes, on every course in the catalog. Participants get a free refresher option for one year. If at any time in that window you want to retake the course, you can do so at no charge.
Are your instructors certified?
All our instructors are Microsoft Certified, including two Microsoft Master Instructors. Several also teach in college continuing-studies programmes, and our bookkeeping instructor has worked in the field since 2001.
How is your training different from watching videos?
We use the CAFE method — Concept, Action, Follow-up, Exercise. Rather than demonstrating the menus, the instructor poses a problem, then guides participants to discover the steps themselves, discuss what they found, and practise it. People retain skills they worked out under guidance far better than steps they watched someone else perform.
What subjects do you teach?
Four categories: introductory computer courses, Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneNote), accounting with QuickBooks and Sage, and leadership and project management using Microsoft Project, Outlook, OneNote and Teams.
Which accounting software do you cover?
Basic Bookkeeping, Sage, and QuickBooks — both Desktop and Online. They carry the same one-year free refresher as every other course in the catalog.
Do you train groups at our own offices?
Yes. If you have five or more staff to be trained we deliver courses tailored to their skill level and your specific requirements, using examples from the work your people actually do.
Do you speak at conferences?
Yes. We provide one-hour to three-hour workshops, and can run hybrid sessions for attendees joining in person or remotely. We can speak on any computer-education topic.
How do I register and what does a course cost?
Registration, current dates and pricing are all handled in our booking system, which is always up to date. Follow the register link for the course you want, or contact us and we will help you choose the right level first.
Where are you based?
Our mailing address is PO Box 332, Parksville Stn Main, Parksville, BC V9P 2G6. We have phone lines in Vancouver and Kelowna and deliver training on site and remotely across Canada and the United States. Office hours are Mon–Fri 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM PST.

Still have a question?

Send us a question or call toll-free 1-877-954-8433. If you are comparing courses, the four category pages explain who each one is for. For groups of five or more, corporate training is the right starting point, and our free guides will give you a sense of how we teach.
