Beginner Computer Training Courses
Start with the computer and application skills you need for office work. Introduction to Windows covers Windows 11, file management and everyday computer confidence.
Beginner courses in Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams let you focus on spreadsheets, documents, communication or collaboration. Each course has its own outline and booking details, so you can choose the missing skill rather than enrolling in every application.
If you are uncertain where to begin, describe a task you find difficult or use the skill assessment for an initial recommendation. We can help you check the recommended course against your software and current experience.

Start with the computer skills that support later learning
Beginners benefit from confidence with windows, files and basic navigation before moving into application-specific work. The Windows course is a useful reference when downloading a practice file or finding a saved document is still difficult.
Practise opening a fictional file, saving a clearly named copy and locating it again without assistance. Then consider the Excel, Word or Outlook introduction that matches your work. Confirm the device and operating system requirements before booking so the practice environment is suitable.
Related options: Corporate training; Excel skills assessment.
Make files easy to find and distinguish
Use a fictional project with an incoming file, a working copy and a final PDF. Create a folder structure and names that let another person identify the current version. Practise moving, saving and reopening the files so you know where the application actually placed them.
Introduction to Windows explicitly includes a filing system, sample files and PDF export. This is a useful foundation before software training when the main difficulty is locating materials or managing several open windows.
Related options: Corporate training; Excel skills assessment.
Prepare the device before learning the application
Confirm the operating system, application version and the account you will use. Test opening a practice file, saving a copy and switching between the meeting and the application. If installation or permission changes are needed, arrange approved IT help before the session.
A course does not automatically include a device or software licence. Ask about the exact requirements for the chosen product, especially when the everyday workplace setup is a browser, a Mac or a managed computer with restricted permissions.
Related options: Corporate training; Excel skills assessment.
