
Frank Byl
Microsoft Master Instructor
Frank Byl is a Microsoft Master Instructor with over 27 years of training and managing with PowerConcepts. Frank grew up in Burnaby, BC and after graduating from SFU in 1984, taught high school for 14 years before starting PowerConcepts in 1998. Since then he has helped thousands of corporate, government, small business and individuals gain confidence and new skills in Microsoft applications. In 2013, PowerConcepts adopted Office 365 and since then has been implementing the SharePoint tools internally and for clients.
In his spare time, Frank and his wife Susanne love most outdoor pursuits including hiking and skiing and they are passionate about sailing.

Eleonora Hobbs
Microsoft Office Master Instructor
Eleonora has been teaching for 25 years. She worked as an executive instructor and advisor in software programs for CEMEX, third largest concrete company in the world, and, twice in a row, was voted the best professor of the year at Tec of Monterrey, the best business school in Latin America. Currently, she teaches Microsoft Office courses at PowerConcepts, Spanish at Okanagan College Continuing Studies and completed PID program.
Florence was born and raised in Prince George, BC, where she graduated from high school with honours, before moving to the sunny Okanagan in December of 1999. She completed her Office Administration Certificate in June of 2001 at Okanagan College and has been working in the administrative and bookkeeping field since. Florence is teaching Basic Bookkeeping, Sage, and QuickBooks, both Desktop and Online. Besides work, she enjoys taking her Aussie Shepherds for walks, crocheting, and reading.

David Poitras
PowerConcepts Instructor
David was born and raised in Kelowna. He graduated from Okanagan College in 1992 with a diploma in Computer Informative Systems. Afterwards he worked in IT as a programmer for Okanagan College for 5 years and taught various Microsoft programs in Continuing Studies at Okanagan College. He also had his own software development company for 25 years. He built custom Microsoft software solutions for small to mid-sized companies in the Okanagan and Lower Mainland. He has also been teaching part time at PowerConcepts for many years and expanded his teaching more recently.

Shawn May
PowerConcepts Instructor
Shawn began his career at Xerox, where he honed his talents in a variety of technologies and developed a passion for helping others do the same. He now teaches the Microsoft Office Productivity Suite to corporate and public clients, with a focus on practical, real-world skills people can apply immediately.
He is widely recognized for delivering fun, relevant, and meaningful training that encourages students to think, practice, and apply what they learn. He has helped more than one thousand students improve their productivity and confidence with Microsoft Office tools.
Shawn lives in Kelowna, and when he's not teaching, he enjoys paddling, skiing, and walking his two dogs.
Fanes immigrated from Haiti over 15 years ago and built his career on discipline, adaptability, and technical expertise. After earning a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, he worked in both the education sector with School District 23 and the production industry with BC Tree Fruits Cooperative. He led enterprise technology initiatives, including large-scale migrations to SharePoint and Office 365, and supported organizational transitions to remote training environments.
Today, Fanes applies that same analytical and systems-driven mindset to financial planning while continuing to support PowerConcepts with IT support.
