A practical comparison checklist
| Criterion | Evidence to request |
|---|---|
| Course fit | Outline matched to the specific work you described |
| Starting level | Prerequisites and a way to handle mixed experience |
| Instructor fit | Relevant application and teaching experience |
| Practice | How learners apply the skill during the session |
| Software fit | Exact products, versions, accounts and permissions |
| Delivery | Session timing, class size and how questions are handled |
| Materials | What participants can use during and after training |
| Commercial terms | Final fee, currency, taxes and change terms |
| Follow-up | Practice support and a way to review progress |
| References | Relevant, approved examples or customer references |
Keep the comparison fair
Ask each provider to respond to the same task description and learner profile. If one quote includes preparation or follow-up and another does not, note the difference before comparing totals. A large topic list does not establish how much practice fits into the scheduled time.
Decide which criteria matter most before reviewing proposals. You might treat access requirements or a necessary learning objective as a pass-or-fail condition, then score the remaining factors. Record a short reason for each score rather than allowing a number to hide uncertainty.
Ask about limits
Clarify what the course will not cover, what participants need beforehand and which claims require a separate service or qualification. A course completion certificate, a vendor exam and a professional designation are different outcomes.
Power Concepts provides published outlines and direct booking links in the course catalogue, and a separate corporate training discussion for team scope. Use this checklist with any provider, including us. For a more formal request, adapt the training RFP outline.
