Excel Workbook Collaboration Training

Plan Excel training focused on coauthoring, version history and workbook sharing. Discuss your goals and workshop scope with Power Concepts.

Agree how a workbook is shared before teaching collaboration

Workbook collaboration needs one recognised working version, a storage location and clear access. Training should address how people find the current file and review changes, not simply encourage more simultaneous editing.

An illustrative practice exercise

Illustrative exercise: two coordinators update a fictional schedule from a shared copy while a third reviews the result. A separately emailed copy is included to show how conflicting versions arise.

  1. Identify the authoritative file.
  2. practise the approved sharing and editing workflow.
  3. record how a change is reviewed and how a colleague finds the current result..

Check the result

Test with the actual permission levels used by ordinary participants. Check platform and feature compatibility before assuming every workbook can be coauthored in the same way.

Confirm the right training scope

Discuss Excel skills alongside Teams or OneDrive workflow needs. Workspace configuration and organisation-wide permissions require the appropriate administrator’s involvement.
