Excel what-if Analysis Training

Plan Excel training focused on scenarios, Goal Seek and sensitivity analysis. Discuss your goals and workshop scope with Power Concepts.

Use what-if analysis to compare defined scenarios

A what-if workshop needs a model whose inputs and outputs are understood. Begin with a business question and approved variables rather than changing cells until an attractive result appears. The learner should be able to explain why an output moves.

An illustrative practice exercise

Illustrative exercise: a fictional operations budget varies units, unit cost and a capacity assumption. The workbook keeps baseline inputs separate from the alternative scenarios and shows the effect on the same defined total.

  1. Build a checked baseline.
  2. vary one input before combining changes.
  3. compare scenarios using consistent units and periods..

Check the result

Check that formulas still refer to the intended assumptions and that a scenario has not overwritten the baseline. A preferred result does not validate an unrealistic input.

Confirm the right training scope

Confirm the exact tools requested, such as scenario tables or goal-seeking, because they are not individually promised by the broad public outline.
