Target the QuickBooks workflow you need to refresh

A refresher should focus on the tasks that have become uncertain. List whether the difficulty is recording customer or vendor activity, reconciling a bank account, interpreting a report or using later management features. Include the current product and subscription so the discussion is grounded in the environment you use.

Compare the practical requirements

Compare Part 1 for setup, transactions, reporting and reconciliation. Compare Part 2 for its payroll, inventory, budget, project and year-end topics. If the gap is conceptual rather than a screen location, the bookkeeping course may be a useful comparison.

Work through an example

Use a demonstration transaction to test yourself: explain what should change, enter it, then verify the related balance and report. Record the step where you need help. This is more precise than describing yourself as rusty, and it avoids unnecessary repetition of familiar material.

Decide what to book or request

For a private refresher, provide the task list and a sanitised example rather than unrestricted access to a live company. Ask which topics fit the proposed session and what practice should follow. Do not assume that a refresher includes a cleanup of existing records.
