Compare the outlines, not only the labels
| Area | Part 1 | Part 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Starting point | Foundation through intermediate use | Solid QuickBooks fundamentals required |
| Setup and routine work | Navigation, company file, customers, vendors and transactions | Builds on the foundational work |
| Reporting | Financial reports and customisation | Year-end reports, budgets and forecasting |
| Other topics | Reconciliation, payroll setup and inventory tracking | Payroll workflows, inventory adjustments, project tracking and job costing |
| Listed duration | Twelve hours | Twelve hours |
There is some topic overlap. Payroll and inventory appear in both outlines, but the descriptions place them at different levels. If one feature is the main reason for taking a course, ask what the practical exercise covers rather than assuming the topic label answers that question.
Check your account before choosing a session
Confirm that you use QuickBooks Online, and tell the trainer your country settings and subscription. The course name does not establish access to every feature in your account. Check the schedule and booking terms for the final fee and time zone.
If the difficulty is understanding debits, credits, reconciliation or the purpose of a financial statement, compare Bookkeeping Fundamentals. Software navigation and bookkeeping principles are related learning needs, but they should not be treated as interchangeable.
For several staff using one company workflow, discuss corporate training. Attendance at either course is not a professional accounting qualification or a substitute for advice on your business’s reporting obligations.
