Choose an Excel refresher from the gaps you can observe

A refresher works best when it revisits the skills you have stopped using, rather than repeating a complete beginner course by default. Try three tasks: build a small table, write and copy a calculation, and create a summary you can check. Record where you need help.

Compare the practical requirements

If file navigation and basic formulas are the difficulty, compare Introduction. If references, tables and formatting need work, compare Intermediate 1. Intermediate 2 adds charts, named ranges and more flexible functions. For reporting, compare Advanced Data Management; for formula depth, compare the functions pathway.

Work through an example

Use a fictional expense list as a self-check. Add a row, change an assumption and explain whether the total and summary update. A remembered button location is less useful than understanding the effect of the change. Keep the test small enough that you can check the expected result manually.

Decide what to book or request

Take the observed gaps to Power Concepts and ask which outline fits. If gaps span several levels, discuss a sequence or scoped private session. The aim is to restore confidence in a defined set of tasks, with practice afterwards, rather than select a course solely because it carries the word refresher.
