The published descriptions use construction and engineering examples. The underlying Excel tools have wider uses, but ask about the examples if your goal is a specific industry workflow.

A practical readiness check

Consider a budget with a quantity column, a unit cost and a tax rate stored in one cell. Can you build a calculation, copy it down and keep the tax-rate reference fixed? Can you turn the data into a table and explain what sorting or filtering changes? If these steps still feel uncertain, Intermediate 1 is a useful course to compare first.

If you can do that work comfortably but struggle to communicate the result with charts or build formulas with several arguments, compare Intermediate 2. This example is a course-selection exercise, not a claim that it is the exact workbook used in class.

Where to go after Intermediate 2

For a formula path, compare Excel Advanced Functions. For validation and PivotTables, compare Excel Advanced Data Management. Neither intermediate course should be described as the dedicated Power Query course; that is Expert Data Management.
