Practise delegated work with clear boundaries
Delegation training should start with what the delegate is authorised to do. Calendar access, mailbox access and permission to send are different needs and must be configured appropriately.
An illustrative practice exercise
In a fictional exercise, an assistant proposes a meeting on behalf of a manager. One attendee is unavailable and the manager has marked a competing appointment private.
- Confirm the delegate’s approved responsibilities.
- Practise creating and changing a sample meeting.
- Check what the organiser and attendees can see.
Check the result
Verify who appears as the organiser or sender and how updates reach attendees. Never change permissions simply to make the exercise work without the account owner’s approval.
Confirm the right training scope
Tell us the Outlook client and the delegation task. Your IT team should confirm access before training; the current intermediate public course specifically identifies Classic Outlook.
