Connect a project dashboard to an agreed status method
A project dashboard should distinguish planned dates, actual progress and unresolved risks. Define how status is determined before assigning colours. A task marked green by one person should not mean something different to another team.
An illustrative practice exercise
Illustrative exercise: a fictional project table contains task, owner, baseline finish, current finish and a documented status reason. It includes one delayed dependency and one completed task.
- Agree the reporting fields.
- build a checked progress summary.
- display exceptions and the reporting date clearly..
Check the result
Check that completion counts, dates and variance use the same baseline and period. The viewer should be able to trace a status to its supporting record.
Confirm the right training scope
Compare Excel dashboard training for the reporting view and Microsoft Project courses for scheduling responsibilities. Do not assume a dashboard replaces a maintained project plan.

Compare the published course pathways
These public outlines are starting points for the skills discussed above. A role-specific example or requested workshop topic is not automatically included in every public session. Check the outline and confirm any must-have requirement before booking.
